The most common NRI project problem

Warning: The most common NRI complaint after project completion is “the materials used were not what we discussed.” Specify exact materials in the written contract: BWP (IS:710) marine plywood with the brand name, and the hardware brand with its series name. Ask for pre-production photographs of the materials at the factory before cutting begins.

1. Initial WhatsApp consultation. Share home details, room sizes, move-in timeline and design references. We respond with questions and a realistic assessment.
2. Site measurement visit. Our team visits your home, measures precisely, and photographs all walls and service positions. A complete site document is shared within 48 hours.
3. 3D design presentation. Photorealistic renders of every room. Colour, material and layout changes at this stage cost nothing.
4. Material sample photographs. Before production begins, we photograph the actual plywood boards, shutter samples and hardware for your digital confirmation.
5. Production progress updates. Weekly factory-floor photographs showing your specific panels and assembled modules.
6. Site installation updates. Daily photographs and short videos during on-site installation. Raise queries in real time via WhatsApp.
7. Final video walkthrough. A live video via WhatsApp or Google Meet before the project is considered complete.
8. Written handover document. Completion photographs of every room, a care and maintenance guide, and a 1-year warranty service contact.

Expert tip: Plan your interior project to complete 2 weeks before your planned visit to Kerala. This allows time for snag fixes before you arrive. Trying to do a handover on the same day you land leads to rushed decisions.

Onam and Christmas: the NRI peak seasons

Onam (August to September) and Christmas–New Year (December to January) are when NRI visits to Kerala are most concentrated. If you are planning a December handover, begin the design process in September or October, allowing 10 to 12 weeks for design, production and installation.
